Since when did I post that (or anything) on smogon? I was on an IRC channel (not affiliated with smogon) and mentioned what I was going to use, and they immediately assumed the video game itself followed some dude's houserules.

I don't post on there because it's specifically for that aspect I don't like and there's no reason to post there. But they could at least show the same courtesy and stick to their forum.

Incidentally, totally wrong about the best way to get Heart Scales:
Go fishing.

Use the Old Rod, and all you will catch are the heart-shaped fish. No not that one, the other one. If the lead pokemon has Suction Cups, you're more likely to get a bite.

They have a 50% chance of carrying a Heart Scale, so use Thief - if they have one, you steal it (remember to unequip it after the fight as you can't steal when you are holding something), and either way it should be a OHKO because they're very weak fish.

You can easily get heaps of Heart Scales, and then you never look back.

Am I the only person that thinks Alohamora or whatever the fuck it's called looks like an evolution of Lovdisc?

Yeah, Amolaloma or whatever should have just been a Luvdisc evolution. I don't think, however, that Emolga should be an evolustion of Pachirisu, because I hate Emolga with a burning passion.

Also note that Magikarp evolving into Dragonite and Dragonair evolving into Gyarados would make a lot more sense, visually.

And I agree that visually Venonat looks like it should evolve into Butterfree, and Metapod into Venomoth, but I'm OK with the fact that Ken Sugimori draws bug heads and faces similar.

But Anonnomnomyourmommormon has nothing, really (like most Gen V Pokemon), and Luvdisc exists solely to produce Heart Scales, so them being evolutions would have not only made sense (something that is optional at best in Pokemon) but given them more of a reason to exist.

I fully support the theory that Bruno is a Primape in human form. If that is not a theory, then it should be.

Anything involving Gyarados is required to not make sense, or else it would have had the Dragon type instead of the Flying type. Or at the very least Mega Gyarados would have (like they did with one of the Charizard mega evolutions; can't remember which for the love of me.)

Fool, you got it wrong: Primape evolves into Bruno at Lv. 60 when you have enough burning justice to activate the Crest of Courage.

Mew isn't the only crazy-DNA pokemon. There is another, one that is bright pink in form, one that weighs the same as Mew, and the only other pokemon that knows Transform.

The reason Gyrados is not a dragon type was because in gen 1 that would have given it no weaknesses. Dragon negates all of the water types weaknesses, and water negates dragons weakness to ice. Thus the only type that could be super-effective was dragon, of which there was only 1 move, Dragon Rage, which did fixed damage.

That said, given its STAB moves were all Special-based, that wouldn't have actually made it a powerhouse. And third gen showed us that you can have no weaknesses (Sableye) and still be useless (sorry little dude!)

I've found out something cool lately: You can pet your Pokemon during battle.

If you use the stylus to rub the bottom screen immediately after defeating an enemy Pokemon, then you'll rub your Pokemon's head, which slightly increases it's Affection. I think it's a nice touch.
